|I don't know exactly what it was that first attracted me to Dan. From the first time I saw him, something just drew me to him. I do, however, know what it was that I fell in love with. Dan is the most sincere, genuine and compassionate person I have ever met. He is honest, almost to a fault, which these days is a very rare quality. He has proven to me that not only do good men still exist, but good people. His love and friendship has meant the world to me and in turn he has become my world.
I have never been good with words, I am wordy, but not the best at articulating, so instead I will share a quote by a professional, who not only taught me how to count, my colors and which side to butter my bread, but a writer that always spoke directly to the heart. “We are all a little weird and life is a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
I can't wait to see what life has in store for us, good or bad I know we will make the best of it, because we have each other.
|In the Horticulture building at the Bloomsburg Fair, with both our Moms present, I took Daphne by the hand, looked her in the eyes and before I had a chance to speak she got a sense of what was going on and said "no,no,no,no" to which I responded in the calmest voice I could muster "yes." I dropped down one one knee and said "will you be my wife?" Daphne looked down at the ring and said "It's pretty." Through teary eyes she looked up at me and said "I can't see, put it on my finger" I said "Is that a yes?" It fit perfectly. I knew at that moment that I had totally lucked out. I can't say our past was perfect. I also can not say that our future will be perfect. However, I can say that the night I stood on a rooftop in Brooklyn, while watching fire works and I looked her in the eyes and said "I love you" and she replied "I love you too" was the most perfect moment anyone could ever ask for. With the lessons of our past and the promise of our future together, I have no doubt that she couldn't find anyone better.|
